What is the job of a pharmacist?
The pharmacist is the patient’s first assistant to inquire about medications, prescriptions, required doses, and everything related to the health condition. Contrary to the common concept, the pharmacist distributes medications, but the pharmacist is considered the person who knows most about all the details of medical prescriptions and has an important role in hospitalization and providing advice and care for patients.
By reviewing and executing doctor’s prescriptions to verify their suitability, organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make identifying products easier and faster, and maintaining the presentation, storage and arrangement of medications in an organized manner. The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can be given the appropriate medication as well as be able to provide professional advice on cosmetics. The goal of the pharmacist’s job is to ensure the effective use of medications and gain people’s confidence in the ability to solve health problems.
What are the pharmacist’s duties?
The most important tasks of the pharmacist in the pharmacy are as follows:
Review and carry out doctor’s prescriptions to verify suitability.
Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient way to make identifying products easier and faster.
Maintaining the storage and arrangement of medicines and other products, following them up, ensuring their shelf life, and preventing problems with poor storage.
Listen carefully to customers to explain their needs and provide appropriate health information and advice.
Providing other medical assistance such as injections, blood pressure measurement, temperature measurement, etc.
Preparing medication and prescription when needed using doses and medical materials for each patient.
Maintain and record records of patient history and all activities related to various medications.
Keeping abreast of developments in the field of medicine by attending conferences, seminars and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Follow all rules, regulations and legal procedures related to the field of pharmacy.
Skills needed for the job of pharmacist
A comprehensive understanding of the management of chemical compounds and determining different doses and measurements
Good knowledge of brands.
Proficiency in using Microsoft programs (MS Office).
Excellent ability to organize and manage.
Proficiency in dealing with pharmacy management programs and systems such as (MediTech, Mediware)
Ability to communicate, negotiate, advise and simplify medical information.
